WATERCOLORS - HEAD & FIGURE

Supply List
This engaging and energetic workshop is open to artists of all levels and is designed to help you approach the head and figure with greater spontaneity, intuition, and expressive freedom. Whether you're new to portraiture or looking to deepen your skills, you’ll gain the confidence to bring life and personality into your work.
The class includes a dynamic mix of demonstrations, instruction, individual guidance, “show and tell,” and a variety of fun, hands-on exercises. You'll explore unique approaches to color application, translucent flesh tones, facial features, and the expressive qualities of children and figures.
Special demonstrations will focus on capturing shadow shapes and creating the illusion of three-dimensional form. Help is always available for those just starting out, and Janet will provide drawing aids to support students new to painting people.
You’ll have the opportunity to work from your own photographs or choose from Janet’s collection. The goal is to learn how to truly “see” your subject in new ways—bringing energy, interpretation, and authenticity to every portrait and figure you paint.
No fear—just paint!
