PAINT ALONG ACRYLICS

Instructor - Cherie Blickenstaff
Cherie Blickenstaff began her career as an artist, creating original works, exhibiting at Florida outdoor art shows, and licensing her designs to national reproduction companies. After more than 20 years working in other fields, she returned to her true passion—painting.
Cherie holds a BFA in Visual Communications from Florida State University and has a professional background in graphic design. Now retired, she is once again actively creating, exhibiting, and teaching. She especially enjoys sharing her skills and knowledge with students who may have once believed they could never paint, inspiring them to discover the joy of artistic expression.
ACRYLICS - PLUMERIA

In this acrylic painting class, students will create a vibrant, textured floral composition inspired by soft white plumeria blossoms layered over lush teal and blue foliage. Working with acrylic paints, we’ll explore building depth through overlapping leaves, creating luminous petals with subtle color shifts, and adding warmth with touches of yellow and coral.
Students will be guided through:
-
Blocking in a dynamic background with loose, painterly brushwork
-
Layering color to create contrast between flowers and foliage
-
Using highlights and shadows to give petals a soft, dimensional quality
-
Balancing expressive brushstrokes with thoughtful detail for a fresh, contemporary feel
This class focuses on color harmony, movement, and building confidence with the brush rather than striving for perfection. Suitable for beginners and intermediate painters, all skill levels are welcome. Students will leave with a finished tropical floral painting and techniques they can apply to future floral and nature-inspired work.
All supplies are provided, including a plumeria template.

Bring color and light to life in this guided acrylic painting workshop featuring a luminous cobalt blue bottle, fresh pink roses, delicate white blossoms, and a bright yellow lemon arranged in a vibrant tabletop composition.
This class emphasizes expressive, confident brushwork and thoughtful color placement rather than rigid detail. Students will explore how to suggest petals and foliage with bold strokes, capture reflected light, and create the illusion of water and transparency within the bottle.
Designed for beginners and more experienced painters alike, this workshop provides step-by-step guidance while encouraging individual expression.
Participants will complete a 10” x 20” canvas and leave with a finished, light-filled still life ready to display.
All materials are included, along with a bottle template to ensure accurate proportions.
