Cherie Blickenstaff began her career as an artist, creating original works, exhibiting at Florida outdoor art shows, and licensing her designs to national reproduction companies. After more than 20 years working in other fields, she returned to her true passion—painting.
Cherie holds a BFA in Visual Communications from Florida State University and has a professional background in graphic design. Now retired, she is once again actively creating, exhibiting, and teaching. She especially enjoys sharing her skills and knowledge with students who may have once believed they could never paint, inspiring them to discover the joy of artistic expression.

Celebrate the beauty of the holiday season with a colorful acrylic painting workshop. You’ll create a bold, close-up poinsettia in rich reds, oranges, and greens set against a dramatic black background.
Cherie will guide you step by step as you sketch the layered petals (with a template), mix vibrant warm and cool tones, and use brush techniques that add depth, texture, and movement. You’ll learn how to blend, highlight, and build layers to make your flower glow against the dark backdrop.
This workshop is ideal for beginners and intermediate painters. By the end, you’ll take home a striking holiday painting that captures the warmth and joy of the season. All materials are provided; just bring your creativity.
