Instructor - Teresa Kirk
Teresa Kirk is an award-winning watermedia artist and instructor whose work embraces experimentation and creative exploration. She holds signature memberships in the Florida Watercolor Society, Kansas Watercolor Society, and Southern Watercolor Society, and Platinum Signature membership in the Gold Coast Watercolor Society.
Teresa has taught privately, at the Boca Raton Museum Art School and ArtServe, and in workshops throughout the United States. Through demonstrations and exploratory exercises, she encourages students to discover new possibilities in watermedia and follow their own creative paths.

What makes a mark uniquely yours? Explore that question with award-winning artist Teresa Kirk in The Beauty of the Mark, a two-day workshop in creative exploration at The New Studio for the Visual Arts.
Through playful exercises, you’ll build a personal vocabulary of marks and discover ways to incorporate them into your paintings. Experiment with watercolor, gouache, and/or acrylic as Teresa introduces transparent and opaque approaches, negative painting, color mixing, value, and design.
Explore Aquabord and other surfaces using brushes and an assortment of mark-making tools. Demonstrations, guided exercises, painting time, group discussion, and constructive critiques will help you explore new possibilities and develop your own artistic voice.
Whether you’re new to these techniques or looking to refresh your painting practice, come ready to experiment, loosen up, and follow your curiosity. All levels are welcome.
