American-born Suzanne Scherer earned a BFA from Florida State University, an MFA from Brooklyn College, and received an International Research & Exchanges Board Award to be the first American visual artist accepted into the Russian Academy of Arts during the Soviet period.
REALISTIC PAINTINGS FROM PHOTOGRAPHS
Utilizing their own high-resolution photographs, students will learn how to achieve realistic paintings and develop their own style in the medium of their choice. Explore a variety of classical to contemporary techniques from the historic method of egg tempera painting to the latest innovations in acrylic and oil painting. Informative demonstrations and personal critiques include how to make your own paints, monochromatic underpainting, color mixing, oil glazes and more. Intermediate to Advanced students.
New students to Egg Tempera will have a $50 materials fee.

STILL LIFE DRAWING FOR TEENS
Using material provided by the school, students will learn how to complete a 2-D observational drawing of the still life. With timed 30-45 minute exercises, they will gain proficiency in accuracy, proportion, value, perspective, composition, craftsmanship, time management, and drawing techniques. This class is specialized for students interested in applying to middle school and high school of the arts programs.
