EGG TEMPERA is a luminous painting medium with great potential for present-day artists as well as those interested in experiencing firsthand the painting methods of the “Old Masters”. Combining historical Russian and Renaissance painting traditions with a contemporary approach, Suzanne Scherer brings this ancient method of painting to the Art School. In this intensive 3-hour workshop, learn the process of egg tempera painting through in-depth instruction and demonstrations from the preparation of true gesso wood panels, mixing paints from dry pigments and egg yolk, to under painting, and glazing.
