THE ART OF PAINTING WAVES & WATER

Nationally recognized artist Robert J. Simone will share his unique approach to painting ocean waves and water. Participants will learn how to capture all aspects of water including how to make it look wet and transparent. Special emphasis will be given to seafoam and seafoam trails. Experience informative demonstrations and personal instruction at your easel. Robert is appreciated for his extensive knowledge and rare ability to explain clearly what to do and why. His goals as an instructor are always that students enjoy themselves immensely, leave excited about painting waves and take home a finished painting.

About the artist:

Robert's art education was obtained primarily through painting outdoors and attending workshops with renowned artists such as Scott L. Christensen, Stapleton Kearns, and Christopher Still. His work has been included in exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club, Oil Painters of America, American Impressionists Society, NOAPS International and Florida’s Finest Plein Air. He is a signature member of both the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA) and the Outdoor Painters Society (OPS). A regular participant in national level plein air competitions, Simone has received Best In Show at Plein Air Southwest 2019, ArtistChoice for Best Tilghman’s Island Painting at Plein Air Easton 2016, First Prize at Lighthouse Plein Air Festival (Florida)2017. His work has been published in Plein Air Magazine and Southwest Art.
