Workshop Description:
Developing a solid foundation is an important part of growing as an artist. This workshop will focus on helping students develop the tools needed for growing as a painter and artist. The class is structured for beginner to advanced students who want to develop their skill understanding and using color. As a painting instructor, Elio’s mission is to provide students with the foundation

necessary to be creative. His goal is to assist students in capturing the particular mood of the moment and to express themselves in a bold and colorful way, while capturing the beauty and spontaneity of life. Elio’s workshops/classes are very hands on, with an emphasis on easel side critiques. He believes that giving instruction is important but showing students how this instruction applies to their individual work is crucial. Based on the student’s level and goals, Elio develops a program for improving each individual’s ability as a painter.
About the Instructor:
Elio was Born on the island of Madeira, hundreds of miles south of Portugal in the North Atlantic Ocean, Elio Camacho immigrated to California with his family. All his paintings are in the Alla Prima style to capture the first impression and light on a given subject. He has been featured as an “Artist to Watch" in Southwest Art Magazine.
